I enjoyed the story. My only issue was the quality of the print of my paperback book. It appeared to have been xeroxed from another book and it was hard to read. Because of the quality of the print, it was very hard to read. Sometimes words were missing. If I saw what the print was like in person I would not have bought this book or if I started reading it right when I received it I might have returned it and looked for a different version.Product details

Short cute tale.
Not what I expected, but good read with a simple message. Not a Christmas tale, just general everyday magic.
I gave a friend a bronze cricket for Christmas and she looked confused. She had never heard of the cricket on the hearth bringing good luck to the family in the house. I bought her this book to learn the story. She loved it.
I am used to reading the Christmas Carol every year and wanted another Dickens Christmas story. I also have the audible copy and although they are not "whisper sync" they are great to follow along.
This is the second OLD copy of Cricket on the Hearth I have purchased through --for my two children with new houses and fireplaces. They got the cricket and the book.
Charles Dickens books are a wonderful insight into the time in which they were written. The writing can be difficult to understand at times, but that was the language of the day. People had a misunderstanding and doubt with others that we still have today. I enjoyed the positive, cheerful ending.
This is one of the few things written by Charles Dickens that I had not read. I enjoyed the book immensely!
The book company makes literature available in various print sizes. This print variations is a huge help! I can share great literature with family and friends that may need larger print. I even find it helpful for myself when my eyes are tired.
I have purchased many books by this company through and have never been disappointed in their products!
Sweet story. Huge typo glitch on cover and fly leaf page. Reads CRICKET ON THE HEART instead of Cricket on the HEARTH!
